Get Active. Feel Good. Connect.
You’re invited to be part of GAP – an award winning 10-week program supporting you to move more, build confidence and make new connections in a welcoming group setting.
What is the Get Active Program?
The Get Active Program (GAP) brings small groups together for 10 weeks of movement, learning and connection. Each week you’ll enjoy a physical activity (at your own pace), and explore practical wellbeing topics like goal-setting, nutrition and healthy eating, stress management and boosting self-esteem.
GAP isn’t about being fit or keeping up with anyone else. It’s about starting where you are, trying new things, and celebrating every step forward in a supportive setting.
Who can join GAP?
GAP is designed for people who are not currently very active but want to take the first steps in a safe, encouraging environment. Most groups welcome everyone, though some focus on specific participants (for example, women’s shelter programs or new dads’ groups).
Would you like to lead a small, supportive program that helps people move more, feel better, and connect with others?

What happens in GAP?
Across 10 weeks, you’ll meet once a week for sessions that mix movement with meaningful wellbeing conversations. Your GAP Facilitator tailors each session to your group, shaping both the activities and the weekly themes so they genuinely support your everyday wellbeing.
Topics will include information such as:
Getting started with movement: taking the first steps and finding what works for you
Setting goals you can actually reach: creating achievable, meaningful goals that stick
Nutrition and healthy eating (our only must-do session): simple, practical approaches to eating well
Boosting self-esteem: and building confidence
Managing stress: practical tools for everyday life
Body comfort: feeling good in your own body
Being age positive: celebrating what your body can do at any age
Motivation, and maintaining momentum: keeping going, even if things get touch
Get your body moving..
Physical activities will be identified by the group as something they would like to try. If you have an activity in mind you’d like to try, be sure to let your facilitator know!
Some of the activities we have featured in recent GAPs include:
